China: Pingyao International Photography Festival (part 3)

PIP ROUND-UP 2012

Once again the Pingyao International Photography Festival was a cultural event on a grand scale. It filled the ancient walled city with 332 exhibitions displayed in former factories, temples, historic buildings and civic gardens. In all 1,700 photographers hailing from 45 countries and regions presented over 13,000 images.

CDC presented an exhibition of Mexican photography organised especially for the festival by Alasdair Foster. Entitled ‘Ouroboros: a Mexican cycle’ it showcased the work of Pablo López Luz, Fernando Montiel Klint and Dulce Pinzón (more information here). The exhibition was well received by both local and international visitors and Pablo López Luz won the PIP International Award (more information here).

With a festival on such a scale, media interest was high. Below are a list of links to some of the coverage of PIP12 and the Mexican exhibition. Before that, we present a short slideshow to give something of the flavour of the festival.

Enjoy!
