Australian Photography Showcased in Dubai

ALASDAIR FOSTER IS THE CURATOR of the Australian exhibit presented in Dubai this March as part of Dubai Photo Exhibition 2016. The Australian work will sit alongside presentations from 23 countries prepared by 18 leading curators from around the world, headed by London-based curator and editor, Zelda Cheatle.

This major event is staged under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, and organised by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) through the World Photo Organisation, London.

The Australian exhibit features the work of eight Australian photo artists arranged under four themes: The Land, The Nation, The Home and The Past. In each theme an artist from the 20th century is paired and contrasted with a counterpart from the 21st century. The artists are: Frank Hurley and Murray Fredericks (The Land); David Moore and Trent Parke (The Nation); Janina Green and Marian Drew (The Home) and Anne Zahalka and Alexia Sinclair (The Past).
